Periods after D%26amp;c.plz help?
Yeah, my doctor told me that it takes a while for your cycle to go back to "normal" after a D%26amp;C. And...what was regular for you before won't necessarily occur for awhile. It's a good sign that you at least had your period for a few days. Mine didn't come after my D%26amp;C and I had to take Prometrium. (A progesterone similar to Provera).
I had a missed miscarriage too. So sorry you had/are going through it too! I had my d%26amp;c on July 3rd.
Has your doctor ever said anything about the possibility of PCOS? When I lived in Missouri...my doctor mentioned the possibility to me that I may have it. (I only have irregular cycles...none of those other awful symptoms that most with PCOS have. I asked because we went through the exact same thing....
I moved to Indiana and found a new doctor. He told me that right away looking at my blood tests (FSH/LH) and by looking at me he was sure I had PCOS. (Thin women PCOS) This type of women generally has no other symptoms besides the irregular ovulation. Have you had a blood test to check your hormone levels? I also found out that those with PCOS have a higher risk of miscarriage. (That's why we lost ours the first time=(
Check out this website...it's by far the best one I've seen:

My new doctor told me about the benefits of Metformin...(which the website also describes) It reduces the risk of miscarriage and also is linked to regulating ovulation. Well, I started taking it and it helped me ovulate right away. Two weeks later I had a positive HPT. (exactly three months after my d%26amp;c) (YAY!)
I was sooo discouraged after my d%26amp;c. I thought it would take forever to get pregnant again since my periods are SO irregular. I am so thankful that my new doctor knew so much about PCOS. (Not many do!) He had me stay on Metformin until my 11th week. I also took Prometrium as a suppository until my 11th week as well.
If you have irregular cycles....there's a reason for it. (probably a hormone imbalance...) Ask about PCOS and get a blood test to be sure...if you haven't already. There's a reason why your cycles are irregular...so it's good to have a doctor who will get to the bottom of it. You don't want to have to go through another miscarriage again!!
Clomid will help you ovulate...but it won't help in sustaining a future pregnancy. Yeah, there's a chance that it could have been a chromosone issue with the first one...(did you get results back from the D%26amp;C? But, there's also a great chance it could have been due to a hormone imbalance.
My doctor was going to have me try Metformin alone for three months...then if I wasn't pregnant he would add clomid to Metformin.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
(I'm sixteen weeks now and things are going great!)
